Access into each campground is controlled by an electronic boom gate that can only be opened by visitors with a confirmed booking using the Inugo app. Our simple booking system is designed to minimise the campgrounds operational costs.
This approach will help us operate both campgrounds unmanned outside of the summer period, maintain affordable campsite rates for kiwi families, and share the net profits each year with the local community.
When you book your stay via the Inugo app, you are booking and paying per night. For example, if you book the 24, 25, and 26 of December, you are paying for three (3) nights: arriving after 12:00pm on 24 December and departing before 10:00am on 27 December. Once you leave the campground on your departure date you cannot re-enter.
You may book to stay for a continuous period of up to 12 weeks.
There are no payment facilities at either campground that will enable you to book or pay for your stay on site.
We have endeavoured to maintain affordable campground fees using a remote booking system. When you book to stay at Glinks Gully or Kellys Bay, you are paying on a per site basis as opposed to paying for the number of individuals travelling with you. This is a requirement of our operating agreement with the Kaipara District Council.
Both campgrounds can accommodate up to 100 visitors at a time, with no more than 6 guests per campsite.
NZMCA members will be eligible to book their stays under the CampSaver programme as soon as possible next year, once the booking system is enabled to recognise whether an Inugo account holder is also an NZMCA financial member. In the meantime, all visitors will pay the same fee.
Right now, you can only book and pay for your stay at either campground with a powered site or non-powered site. You cannot book a specific campsite, e.g. site 25, because the functionality to enable this under Google’s Android operating system is still under development. Once this functionality is ready next year, we will be working with our app developers to enable visitors to book individual campsites via the Inugo app.
Until then, selecting an individual campsite on arrival is on a first come first serve basis. You can only camp on a powered site if you booked and paid for a powered site, and you can only stay on a non-powered site if you booked and paid for a non-powered site. If you are travelling in your vehicle and leave your campsite unattended for the day, please be aware the same campsite may not be available for you on your return.
In some cases, you may be asked by one of our volunteer campsite hosts to relocate to another powered or non-powered campsite in order to accommodate different vehicle sizes.
Failure to adhere to the above requirements and instructions from our volunteer campsite hosts may result in your immediate eviction from the campground.
You can open the gate using the Inugo app from within your vehicle. You can enter and leave the campgrounds as many times as you wish prior to your day of departure. On your departure date once you leave the campground you cannot re-enter.
You can cancel your booking via the Inugo app and receive a full refund any time prior to 12:00am on the day of your arrival.
You cannot cancel or transfer your booking, nor will you receive a refund from 12:00am on the day of your arrival. The NZMCA may, at its sole discretion, offer partial refunds in exceptional circumstances. Please email [email protected] if you wish to request a refund making sure to include the camping ground name, your name, booking dates, receipt reference and along with your reasons.
Please arrive no earlier than 12:00pm on the day of your first night and depart no later than 10:00am on the day of your departure.
